22/12/2014 B&B Attachments are on the move

North East-based B&B Attachments is set to create 18 new jobs with its expansion into a 40,000 sq ft factory in Cramlington. With local funding support from Arch, the Development Company for Northumberland, the move represents a major leap forward in the company’s development plans.

B&B Attachments Ltd is the leading independent supplier of forklift truck attachments in the UK. Based in Nelson Park Industrial Estate, the company’s experience in material handling began more than 30 years ago with a workforce of just 3 people. The current expansion, in response to increased customer demand both domestically and overseas, and along with the expansion of the design and manufacturing capability for specialist fork lift truck attachments and equipment hire service, has resulted in the generation of an additional 18 jobs, bringing the total workforce to 64 by 2016, and the need for larger premises.

A total of £720k has been invested at Cramlington in plant and machinery as well as the workforce.  The new posts will be primarily technical roles including welding fabrication, engineering and apprentice positions.

B&B Attachments new factory, on the Nelson Park Industrial Estate, will allow the business to diversify and also restore and refurbish clients' equipment.  The company is set to attract business from all over the UK, Europe and North America.  Its current client base already includes global blue chip companies and extends to the USA, Egypt and Malaysia.
