B&B Increase Productivity at Timothy Taylors

Timothy Taylor began brewing beer in Cook Lane in the West Riding town of Keighley. After discovering a winning formula in 1863, the brewer transferred to a larger site at Knowle Spring, where it remains to this day.

A key factor in the success of Taylor's ales is the spring water that wells up from deep under the Pennines, which is still used today to produce their traditional cask ales. The brewery remains in the Taylor family and is now the last independent brewery of its type left in West Yorkshire, employing more than 50 people.

To ensure productivity levels are met and to support Taylor’s end of line operations, B&B Attachments, the UK’s leading supplier of forklift attachments and the exclusive UK distributor of Kaup equipment, has supplied the ale makers with innovative Kaup keg clamp forklift attachments.

The KegMaster keg clamp fitted to a Flexi Narrow Aisle truck enables a secure grip of kegs and casks, and allows for easy pallet handling without the removal of the centre tine.  The attachment provides the driver with excellent visibility when approaching the load, whilst increasing driver confidence and ensuring the safe and secure handling of kegs and casks. It is the ultimate solution for improving product handling, and the state of the art keg handling attachment decreases the risk of damage to lorries and other overhead obstructions, reduces maintenance costs and ensures less shock loading to trucks. Standard features include low profile stabilisers with a long lasting rubber pad, wear indicators on tines, solenoid valve and end of stroke cushioning on side shift movement. The keg clamp is available in alternative operating ranges, non-side shifting versions and varying tine and stabiliser lengths.

Nick Berkovits, Senior Brewer at Timothy Taylors comments “We are delighted with the attachment provided and the dedicated service B&B Attachments has delivered to us. The attachment is used every day and is now an integral part of our operation, enabling fast and reliable loading, unloading and end of line support. The attachment has been chosen for its optimum performance, maximum productivity and reliable operation.”
